The opportunity and joy to be able to “get” to coach instead of or having to go to practice or a game throughout the season has been something I have pondered on towards the end of the season. Each season is a grind and takes tons of energy that drains each thought going through a coaches head. Seasons change, players move on and graduate, while the program or school activity has to go onto the next season or school year. Each team holds a special place in my heart and this season’s group was one that showed perseverance, grit, hard work, and attitude/efforts from the first practice to last game Thursday evening exceeding many expectations and improving in all facets for the team as well as individually. Things may not have gone in our favor the last two games or a few games this season, but these girls came out each day facing the obstacle we needed to work on and moved along the season relentlessly. I look forward to what the future brings for players returning next season after facing these two tough region foes with a fire and passion working on their own game in the off season. Thanks to the Seniors: Karleigh and Claire. Your leadership for the many underclassmen not only on the C, JV, Varsity has been seen, but all the elementary aged girls in each of your own county school shows what it is to be a Sargent County Lady Bulldog. I appreciate all the hard work, sweat and tears you had poured in the program and hope only the best for you and your futures. Parents, community members, school staff and administration, and fans throughout the season have always supported and shown that at each game, as well as everyday passings wherever these girls are, we are noticed and they are noticed for Sargent County! Thank you and appreciate all you do with funds, food, snacks, and anything else I’m missing. Also thanks to Dana Erickson and Nancy for book, Nancy for driving bus, Brook and Kinsey Olson for videos and stats along with social media messages and posts. It goes unnoticed and cannot thank everybody enough from near and far. The success of the season also is seen by both of the assistant coaches I have. Without them, I don’t know how I would make it through the season and them keeping me in line for the girls. Thank you Katie and Hunter for all the time and commitment for the girls and what you bring to the whole picture of the program! Lastly, thanks to all the girls in the gym and working on their ability to make themselves better each and every day. Keep up the hard work and getting in the gym as much as possible. Face your goals and expectations in whatever you do, whether it relates to basketball or not. Make yourself each day 1% better in whatever you work at to fill your glass more than full with the bountiful potential you each bring to the classroom, plate, court or field. Above all…… Go Bulldogs!
